Lt. Gen. Lima Costa will assume the function of the Cyber Defence Commander in May 2023. He joined the Brazilian Army in 1984. His previous assignments include 4th Intelligence Company Commander, Electronic Warfare Centre Commander, Cyber Defence Centre Chief, Army’s Logistical Support Base Commander and Director of Material and Military Employment. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff Course – Master in Military Sciences, Command and General Staff Course at the Superior War College in Peru, Cyber Security and Crisis Management in Cyberspace at the National Defense Institute in Portugal and the Program on Cyber Security Studies at the George C. Marshall Center, Germany. He also has the Basic Parachutist Course, Jungle Operations Course, and Electronic Warfare Planning Course.
