Piret Pernik 

Piret Pernik is a researcher of the Strategy Branch of the CCDCOE. Her research interests include military cyber organisations, national cybersecurity strategies and policies, NATO and EU’s cybersecurity, AI, and 5G cybersecurity. She is an editor of the “Cyberspace Strategic Outlook 2030: Horizon Scanning and Analysis” (CCDCOE, 2022) and a co-editor of the “Cyber Threats and NATO 2030: Horizon Scanning and Analysis” (CCDCOE, 2020). Previously, Pernik was a research fellow at the International Centre for Security and Defence and a researcher at the Estonian Academy of Social Sciences, Tallinn, Estonia. Her career includes several positions at the Estonian Ministry of Defence, and she has served as adviser of the National Defence Committee at the Parliament of Estonia. Piret holds a Master of Arts degree in Social Sciences from the University of Tallinn and in International Relations and European Studies from the Central European University, Budapest.
